ANZAB Annual Ringing School 2014

The weekend of January 17-19th saw the gathering of old friends and new faces to the many towers of Sydney and surrounds.  Every year the Ringing School is held, mainly to help improve the skills of the beginners and intermediate ringers under the guidance of the more experienced.  The sessions are many and varied but include general ringing, rounds and call changes, methods, teaching the teacher and bell handling.  Due to the supreme organising skills of Deryn Griffiths, participants were placed according to their needs and experience and were provided with the most wonderful mentors and teachers for the weekend.

The dinner on Saturday night was also a way to concrete old acquaintences and make some new friendships.  The Bathurst participants, Deb Dixon, Rob Macalary, Anneke De Vries, Ramona Katter and Oriana Zanon all found it incredibly helpful.  Big thanks to all of those who aided and encouraged over the weekend.
